I know his nickname implies great with reference to his mma ability, I still don’t like it. He’s all good and all, but that’s a bad nickname, only Allah (God) is The Greatest. That MMA nickname doesnt even roll of the tongue nicely like iceman or something.cAnd please don’t change it to Afghan or whatever lol, ya u represent but no needd for a name that contains that. A better name is needed something that describes his talent or afghans…maybe the warrior (cause we don’t back down ever), i dont know haha….but that nickname gotta change hopefully if possible

@HatehisMMANickname Hi, Idontknowyourrealname, haha. I follow MMA it is my favorite sport and am I big fan of Siyar’s. I began to follow Shooto in particular because of Siyar and found out that many big names in MMA come out of Shooto training and continue to be Shooto practicioners throughout and am greatful for learning about who he is and being introduced to Shooto. That being said just to make it known on this site Siyar did not come up with this nickname himself. You don’t give yourself your own nickname in MMA. It is given to you. Siyar’s old nick names were the 187er and the Afgan Killa but when he came to train to the USA his coach in the US, Ryan Parsons was so impressed with him and his character that he gave him this new nickname. So the whole nickname he was given was “Siyar the Great the most interesting man in the world” but then it had to be shortened up. So really the nickname comes from his coach and his teammates in the US and a fighter normally has to go along with what he is given. For example, Gegard Mousasi’s nickname “The dreamcatcher” was given to him and he has said before he doesn’t really care for it but he goes along with it because that is what other people gave him. I like the 187er nickname the best myself but I don’t train with him or coach him so really I don’t find it my place to say what his nickname should be. Well, hopefully that explans it good on why he is called this now.

Thank you to the author of this article for posting it right away after the win. I was very happy and pleased to see it and looking forward to more posts like this one on future wins.
