A New Middle School For Heratis

Afghanistan’s Bakhtar News Agency reported yesterday that a new Middle School building has been constructed in Kharaback village, located in the Kashkic district of Herat province.  Herat is located in western Afghanistan. The school includes 10 classrooms, 6 administrative rooms, and a sports gymnasium. The school will accommodate the needs of 600 students.

State-Of-The-Art Radar System at Kabul Airport

More Afghans now with access to electricity

Radio Rabia Balkhi (from Balkh, Afghanistan) reported today that two power supply projects in the Pashtoonkot district of Faryab province have been completed; this will provide 1000 families with access to electricity.  Furthermore,  Ariana TV reported today that the Asian Bank will finance an electricity project to bring power to various southern provinces.

New Kuchi Hospital Inaugurated

Dr. Suraya Daleel, Acting Minister of Public Health, inaugurated a well-equipped, 30-bed hospital in the Puli-Charkhi area of Kabul city today.  The hospital should satisfy the health services needs of more than 120,000 Kuchis.  Kuchis are a nomadic people in Afghanistan and they live very difficult lives.  The land to build the hospital on was donated by […]

Bridge construction work begins in Nimroz and 36 projects have been completed in Kunar

Afghanistan’s official news agency (Bakhtar) reported yesterday that a bridge (120 meters in length & 2 meters wide) will be constructed in the southern province of Nimroz.  Once this bridge is completed, it will resolve transportation issues for 10,000 families. Job opportunities for more than 250 in Laghman

UNAMA (United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan) reported today that 3 projects (funded by the Japanese government) have been setup in Laghman province.  The projects which include stream and intake construction, will provide job opportunities for more than 250 people.
